Rotting

Ok, so i still do not have my passport =/
I really really wanna go back to melb =(

It's so pointless being here really
Wasting all this time, knowing i have so much stuff to do in Melb is driving me bonkers!!!

My cough is totally killing me, and my social life!
CNY has somewhat come and gone, i missed the whole week of clubbing cos i'm sick...
At least it's a little better now :)

Stuck at home during the day cos everyone's gone to work
This could be the longest time just not doing anything!
Considering that all the times i've been back over the summer holidays have been spent working

Happy Birthday Pearly Hue!
Me love you long time!!

Spend Shift

I've realised (for quite some time now) that a substantial amount of money goes to eating and eating and drinking and shopping
So my "chinese" new year's resolution (since i didn't make one during new years)
Is to save! yes, i've said this a million times, we all have
It's always that oh-so-gorgeous perfect bag or pair of shoes that breaks the bank, the one that you just absolutely need to have

I need to prioritise between pretty things or nice holidays now
So hard! when the love is staring you right back in the face
And all it takes is a swipe of that card...

PeaceBreaker

I'm melting!!!! This 37 degree heat is such a bitch, and its not like that, where you can dismiss it with a flick of your hand coupled with some eyeball rolling.
Ice cream is no help, and there's only so many iced LemonLimeBitters one can drink.
I don't think prancing around nekkids is gonna help much either, not with all that prancing...
Hoho just wait till its 40+ degrees girlfriend!
Ironic how i'm in the one room in the whole house without air conditioning, his room!
Cold showers serve as temporary relief and are only good to cure another kind of heat, well... maybe not
/swt (literally)

::
I've graduated!
... and am officially jobless

::
I'll be arriving in KL on the 25th (next fri!)
My return being earlier than originally planned because... I LOST MY PASSPORT! :'(
And, it has to happen just when I'm about to get all my things together for the PR application (i'm still awed that the Aust immigration would steal -cos it is daylight robbery- 5k in order to process and approve it)
And in case you're wanting to know how i'm getting back without a passport...
No, i'm not gonna stowaway on a plane/ship
Flying to Canberra this Wed to get an emergency travel document
The Malaysian Embassy had better get it all done in a day, or else (and yes that is a threat!) cos I'm not prepared to spend a night in Canberra

Ok so see you all back in KL-lah
Number hasn't changed
Whoever who reads this...

::
And OMG-lah
I better stop shopping...
Been shopping since Boxing Day, and before Xmas, post New Year, and now still shopping even though i say won't. Aih
So now you know what i do with all my free time, ya right
It's always a few items purchased here and there when i'm out
Honestly haven't been really keeping track... but it seems like i've accumulated quite a number of new things now... erk

The First Quarter of 2007

Note: Was written halfway some time ago in July, finally finishing and posting it =p

Hi there~
You still visiting checking my blog?
Wow, your patience is finally... rewarded??
I am still alive.
And well for that matter, depending on who's asking

I was planning to blog over the holidays but... screw you Acer! You suck.
Which also explains my disappearance from messenger, friendster, facebook etc
You could have, possibly emailed and I would have, possibly replied

A recent conversation over MSN with Jo (using a hijacked laptop *evillaugh*) just proves my persistently failing memory
The winter semester break has come to an end, it's been a month
And i hardly remember anything... :/

So i guess blogging is a good way to keep track
Ok. So, what i have done so far over the last semester and holidays, besides the usual of course
In a point form summary
Pictures like always? Erm, maybe later on depending on how i feel

- Sunbathing with Nicole on Brighton Beach
Both of us got soo sunburnt it wasn't funny
I think the probability of getting skin cancer just increased ten fold after that
Ok, so we thought we weren't getting enough of a tan... (Point to note: Take off sunnies when checking for signs of a tan)
Nonetheless, making full use of summer
Ohya, never bathe, wear red underwear then go gamble at Josh's house :p
I didn't win btw...

- BLVD
Let us not talk about it, for now :)
151 on an empty stomach spells disaster

Ryan, Amanda, Josh, HuiShan

The Boys

The Girls
The Extras... haha nolaa
Ryan's godsis Melissa, and her 2 friends

- Road Trip! Cruising along the Great Ocean Road
HuiShan was branded with the moniker GG based on her weird and disastrous choice of an ice lolly
It really was a pretty sight, all that water and rocks and sand and more water and rocks and sand, oh road too
Taking amazing pictures in an inlet, of the sun going down behind the cliffs
Xiang racing with superbikes
Losing Ryan. haha your Aurion CMI laa
I had fried chicken, slaw and fatchips for lunch at Lorne. yum
Soaking up end-of-summer rays while giving closure to the dying warmth of the summer sun

Toilet break at Torquay

One of the stopovers, where we viewed the Apostles, maybe

Foreground: Mandy, HuiShan, Pearly, Amanda, Lydia, Melissa
Background: Apostle

People who came to Melb, who I have met up with, going to/supposed to meet up with:
- Alia fr Sydney
- Esther & Shawn fr. Brissy
- Jamie, Perth
- Sam, Sydney
- Wei Cheng, Canberra
- Kang Wei, Sydney

"Victoria is so The Place To Be" ;)

Ok, so continuing where I left off... (based on a quick browse of the last few posts)
- Obsession with bedsheets
Check, still there
Obsession progressing exponentially into houseware... uh-oh

-Beer/alco tendencies
It's amazing, how the amount of indulgent binge drinking has been drastically reduced
(Prolly cos there's something else occupying my time now =p and perhaps filling up the void i once satiated with alcohol ahaha damn bs but anyways..)
No more buying 6 packs from the bottle shop downstairs to drink at home. Alone.
Only beer/guiness on tap for me now ;p
Believe it or not, i have not clubbed since those few times when i first got back to melb
Oh wow
Nope, not even once over the hols
Casual drinks of the alcoholic kind don't count
As for Pearly... i don't know bout you and your beer man, haha!
It's good, yea, but sometimes i miss it
Although i certainly don't miss the vomiting on sidewalks/toilet bowls/waste paper baskets bit

So many more updates, but i'm so tired now =(
Ohh all that sleep for 12 hours, pheww

Deal Time

I remember, the first thing I bought, the first time I went grocery shopping, the first time I was here in Melbourne (to study anyway) that I still have now and have only used the first and one time, is a bottle of balsamic vinegar.
Came to me when I bought a bottle of 8 yr old aged Italian balsamic vinegar the other day.

::
MamaMonkee and JoshyBoy are coming to Melb in November. I'm soo excited! But I reckon the mother is gonna get on my nerves by the end of the week, if I'm lucky! Kaima, 8-yee, Cousins: Laura and Nicole are coming too =D

::
The time has yet to come, but it's this close. I'm graduating at the end of this year.
And the whole thing about:
- moving to a new place
- whether or not I can return to Malaysia (then to Singapore for an internship) after exams for 3-4 mths, before coming back to Melbourne to apply for an onshore PR
- money for PR application (is it really 4k?!), IELTS, migration agent, skills assessment (zomg I never knew it added up to such an amount, in.aussie.dollars.eep.)
- getting a job, here, in Aust, doing something I wanna do
- car (when I still can't drive properly)
- possible job applications and a move to Sydney
- saving money for HK shopping trip mid next year (heh heh) or Queenstown, NZ. Plus winter ski trip? zomg!
It's doing, or rather, going to, do my head in.
I'm heading into another realm, spiralling, falling, warping, zorbing into it instead of gently tippy toeing, gliding to the next step.
If i were to return to Malaysia for good instead, there would be none of this. A job, a car, accomodation, is just there, waiting for me. But I wouldn't have it any other way, this is the decision I have made.
Wish me the best.

::
Oooh itchy spots drive me insane!

::
I wonder if someone reads my blog. If you understand "nervv nyuu snorgle canoodle" you know who you are... and then let me know la! if not later i complain about you here how?? hehe

Gluttony

Omg i just had butter prawns for dinner! *salivate*
and sambal kangkung, rendang, mussels in spicy sauce (spicy, salty, lemongrass/lime leaf tasting)

We had 3 (possibly 4) peking duck quite awhile back but it was sooo good /orgasminmouth
and pakchamkai thinghy with slices of ham and bamboo shoot in between plus stickyish sauce, don't know what the name of this dish is
And lotsa other stuff like, erm, duck soup with kai choi but not spicy wan =( beansprouts stir fried with duck
Overstuffed duckus maximus

I lurvee duck, almost as much as i love roast pork haha

I love going for dinners with adults, who know where the good food is! =p (not to mention the bill settlement too :p but i really am grateful ok =D)

The Malaysian restaurant is in Heidelberg, Peking Duck place in Blackburn
Peking duck in the city is overpriced and not that good
A little surprised peking duck here is served with some meat left on the skin
Will get the address + pics the next time for greedy foodie people in Melbourne (like me! :p) who are interested to know where

Ohyea sincei'mherebeforeiforget, short Nobu review:
- New style sashimi: Salmon Scallops
Thin slices of raw seafood drizzled with hot oil to semi cook, seasoned with yuzu, soy, sesame seed, and some other stuff
Excellent! Great for people like me who don't like the taste and texture of raw stuff.

-Crab and avocado little rolls
I didn't wanna eat it at first cos it looked like crab stick (which is yukk) but turns out its real crab meat! plus the seaweed had a nice roastyish flavour. i'm such a champ at describing flavours :)

-Beef tataki
Wagyu beef. seared then sliced, rare middle, topped with onion ponzu sauce, garlic chips etc
Lovely smokey flavour, tender and juicy. Like not love. To its credit, i'm not a fan of rare beef cos of the strong beef smell. and blood.

-Snow crab with spicy sauce and caviar
It was not bad, but not orgasmic. don't think i'll order it again

-Black cod with miso sauce (Nobu's signature dish)
I WOULD GO BACK TO NOBU JUST FOR THIS
It's an amazing sweet buttery flavour, 3/4 people who i know have tried it absolutely love it!

-Sashimi dinner set + rice + miso soup (Salmon, tuna, prawn, whiting, mackerel(?) that's all? cant remember what else)
Hmm not a fan but i loved the salmon! Coming from a person who doesn't usually eat sashimi, it is soo fresh and melt in your mouth. Excellent cuts

Looking at the menu, i didn't know what to order as quite a few of the interesting things were raw. I'm not gonna eat tempura at Nobu right :| but as it turns out, i was satisfied at the end of the dinner. Definitely going back again, soon *hinthint*, for black cod miso, tuna tataki, wanna try their wagyu steak, hope isnt too big.

Bill came up to 150 plus surprise dessert :p ^-^ *heehee*
Reasonable for the quality of food you get

Dejected Acceptance

I hate to admit defeat, but statistics and mathematics is just not something i can easily comprehend
It's little wonder why we admire those who can do what we can not
It's no stranger that the more you set out to achieve, the greater the expectation, the further and more detailed are your plans into the future
The more dejected you will be when those hopes, dreams and plans don't materialise and are pushed back, consequently involving additional opportunity and financial cost

On a happier note, going to Nobu Melbourne week after next
Wanted to try Flower Drum but thought it was impossible to get a booking now
Wasn't that easy either getting a table at Nobu, considering that we're making reservations for a date a fortnight from now
I guess Jacques Reymond will have to wait...
I'm such a pig when it comes to food :p

You can tell i'm stuck at home when i start to blog a lot :p hehe

"The moment I wake up
Before I put on my makeup plus all the other gunk put on before
I say a little pray for you
While combing my hair now
And wondering what dress to wear now I finally decided, i'm breaking in my suede stilettos
I say a little prayer for you"

Pure Luxe

I so know what i'm gonna splurge on with my first permanent job paycheck
Forget luxury bags, a holiday, or car downpayment

One Thousand thread count egyptian cotton sateen bed linen

Is the way to go!
Pillowcases, sheets, quiltcover, the works
Considering that we spend 1/3 of our life in bed, i think it's a pretty good deal!

You probably think wth! and can't appreciate what i'm getting at
But if you've ever felt 1000 thread count sheets... you'll know. ohH yesss, you'll know =)
So orgasmic to the touch, it's like caressing the smoothest, silkiest... softest girl's ass =p

Part 2

Doing things the old skool way as of late has proved to be extremely gratifying
From choosing a postcard from my travels and sending it off to loved ones
to...
Locating and borrowing a book from the library (for reading pleasure, not studies)
I had the biggest grin of satisfaction on my face when i found the collection of Wilde's work
I never knew my uni library held such treasures
Heck, i'd never even been to that floor before!

I am beginning to really appreciate the simple pleasures in life, more than i ever have before
Evidenced by these 2 consecutive posts
The soujourns in the sun with beer, warming my face, warming me, warming my heart, puts a beeg smile on my face (could be the beer)

Blonde... is the new Black

Addictive:
Coriander
The smell of gunpowder

A Testament

The simple things in life are not over rated

Waking up, when you want to
To a bowl of steaming hot pasta, and a glass of wine
Is so much bliss in itself
Serendipitous surprises are the little bubbles of happiness that keep life interestingly afloat

And then everything is right in the world
:)

A New Beginning

Went to have my hair cut short on a whim this arvo
I've had the same hairstyle for about 2 years and i thought that now would be a good time for a change
A new look for the new year, a new beginning

So much has changed over the past few months, and i feel i've grown a lot as a person including my outlook on things that matter. Fundamentally though, i am still the same person, so no worries that i might go mental on you ok!
I am really looking forward to this year, along with increasing personal expectations of what i hope to achieve. I've felt that i've missed out on many things over the recent years, and this year my only resolution is to grow as an individual
It's about time i make time for me
I'm not being selfish cos at the end of the day, just wanting to be that little bit better as a person

I think i'm gonna get my tongue pierced next week
And when my hair is longer, get some curls and dye it tokyo blonde =D or summat
OhkayYy, i'm probably suffering from some sort of pre-work crisis, seeing as how this is my last yr at uni and i'm trying to make it worthwhile
Doing things like playing with my hair before i can't anymore due to professional reasons
Or maybe 21-year old crisis! (if there even is such a thing!)

Not quite what i expected because of my hair texture (too straight and floppy), but i like it!
Pretty versatile style though!

::Fresh out::
Back

Left side

Right side
Kinda retro 60's looking yea

Here comes the hairspray and wax!
::Pulled up::

::Poofy:: aka PowerHair! ahaha! =p
Not quite but getting there!

::Sleek::
Other side

::Tousled::

edit
So far only my mum thinks i should have kept my long hair
And maybe she's right, only your mum will tell you the truth and not mince their words!
Honestly, i miss my long hair
I feel like a little boy when i don't look at my refelection every 5 minutes or so!

Home Sweet Home In Melbourne Anyway...

Blogged about it about a year ago *here*
Pictures taken about a year ago as well... amazing procrastinator that i am!
Just thought i'd put it up now since Nicole and i are staying put and not moving anywhere

++

Hello! Welcome to my little apartment!
As you walk through the front door, the first door on your left would be the bathroom.
This is where i have my showers, brush my teeth, do laundry (washing machine and dryer inside hidden space to your left, i don't do chinese laundry ok! even tho i'm chinese...)

My bathroom and that's my reflection taking a pica

Now, on to the 2nd door...
My room!

Picture from yonks time ago, even before i had a study table
Wish i didn't need to have one (room would look soo much nicer) but i am a student okayy
So it's inevitable

One of the best things about my room is...
The dimmable (is this even a word?!) downlights
Ooo mood lighting! haha

Then my table came and i had to swap the bed over to make way

Table fits in nicely like this, it's the only way!
Cos i wanted to keep the bed central to the room

Ok but this is from like one year ago
So much has changed, my room is full of crap
Need to move stuff out that shouldn't be there so i can return my bedroom to it's pre existing condition, like in the pictures above!

Just cos i colour block my wardrobe doesn't make me strange okayyY
Just a little anal =p

Why there is a light in the wardrobe... i do not know!

Tendencies

Another reason why i heart
Absolutly cracked me up!

"This precious vodka was distilled from grain born and raised in the bling-blinging fields of southern Sweden. Vodka has been shining under the a.k.a of Absolut since 1879. This bottle is one of the few to be dressed up for the party. Unlike the threads, the spirit inside is the real thing."

++

Bottles of alco in the apartment, mostly unopened
We're not alcoholics!
5 of it brought by Nicole's mum
Thanks aunty! haha
We promise to be good and not drink it all at one go!
